VIDEO: Miley Cyrus on Instagram: “I Try to Remind Girls That’s Not Reality”

When you meet Miley Cyrus for the first time, there are a few things running through your mind: She’s beautiful. Her porcelain skin is crystal clear, as well as her eyes. She has a stunning, pearly-white smile. And she does have on the most sequins of anyone in the room. But the “crazy” image she has on Instagram isn’t anywhere to be found. In fact, she’s pretty chill. (Granted, we were at a press junket, not the MTV Video Music Awards or an afterparty.) I had the opportunity to interview her about all things beauty (and life in general), as she was recently named MAC Cosmetics’ Viva Glam spokeswoman. Miley designed a lipstick and “lipglass” for the cause, where all proceeds from the sales of the makeup go to men, women, and children affected by or living with HIV/AIDS. If we know anything about Miley, it’s that she loves to give back – whether it’s to homeless youth, animals, or anything in between. What was most impressive about Miley were her genuine responses. Having to undergo constant scrutiny, she gave an empowering message about knowing who you are and finding happiness there – not in how others see you or perceive you.
